Louis Vuitton + Art = Hong Kong

Louis Vuitton is in the process of constructing a permanent Frank Gehry-designed art foundation in Paris. Construction began in 2008 at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in the Bois de Bologne. The foundation isn’t slated to open until 2012, but Louis Vuitton will be giving a preview via an exhibition in Hong Kong.
The exhibition – titled “Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation” – is set to run from May 22nd to Aug. 9th at the Hong Kong Museum of Art and will recount the French luxury giant’s longtime association with the art world.
IT traces the history from the Louis Vuitton founder's grandsons, who teamed with Art Deco designers to create the famed Louis Vuitton trunks, to the recent collaborations between creative director Marc Jacobs and contemporary artists like Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince.
